This metric aggregates executed trade amounts by side over the period. It sums buy amounts and sell amounts separately, and also keeps counts, while the buy and sell volume series are shown as percentages of circulating supply when supply data is available. Unlike Limit Orders and Quotes, this is realized flow rather than posted liquidity, so it is the right chart when you want to measure how much trading actually occurred.
